MPO Public Advisory Committee meeting set for Feb. 23

MPO’s Public Advisory Committee meets in February CAMDEN — Join the Dover/Kent County Metropolitan Planning Organization’s Public Advisory Committee when it meets at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 23 in Room 221 of the Kent County Levy Court Administrative Complex at 555 Bay Road in Dover. In its first meeting of the year, the PAC will discuss the MPO’s upcoming long-range plan, which looks at transportation plans and projects from fiscal years 2017 to 2040. MPO staff also is set to give a presentation regarding its Capital Gateway Study for downtown Dover, as well as the MPO’s Environmental Justice policy. PAC members are scheduled to discuss the MPO’s proposed FY2017 spending plan, or Unified Planning Work Program (UPWP), as well as examine and possibly vote on updates to the MPO’s Public Participation Plan. The PAC is comprised of community volunteers who are appointed to the group. The group ensures that the MPO receives input from the public regarding all transportation plans, programs and policies that the MPO Council adopts. PAC members come from diverse backgrounds who are interested in planning and transportation. This meeting is open to the public, which is encouraged to attend. THE WINTER STORM WATCH HAS BEEN CANCELLED. * LOCATIONS…SOUTHEASTERN NEW JERSEY AND CENTRAL DELAWARE. * HAZARD TYPES…POTENTIAL FOR BLIZZARD CONDITIONS WITH HEAVY SNOW…STRONG WINDS AND BLOWING SNOW. * SNOW ACCUMULATIONS…6 TO 14 INCHES POSSIBLE… WITH THE HIGHER AMOUNTS MAINLY INLAND FROM THE ATLANTIC COAST. Delmarva Goods Summit Dec. 15

The Delmarva Goods Movement Task Force winter meeting will be held on from 9 a.m  to noon on Tuesday, Dec. 15 at the Duncan Center, 500 Loockerman St., Dover, Del. This taskforce is comprised of area DOTs, economic development groups, private sector representatives, county officials, ports, and members of the public. It is charged with overseeing and helping implement future actions and policy recommendations that result from the WILMAPCO Freight and Goods Movement Analysis. APA of Delaware Annual Meeting, Dec. 8

The Delaware Chapter of the American Planning Assocation (APA) will hold its annual meeting on Dec. 8 from 5 to 7 p.m. The meeting will be held at Frazier’s restaurant, 9 E.
