MPO to hold public comment period regarding proposed UPWP change, Sept. 8 – Oct. 8
Date Posted: Friday, September 4th, 2015The Dover/Kent County Metropolitan Planning Organization will open a public comment period regarding a proposed amendment to its FY 2016 annual spending plan, known as the Unified Planning Work Program (UPWP). The comment period will run from Sept. 8 to Oct. 8, 2015.
This spending plan, which has been in effect since July 1, is approximately $500,000.
The proposed amendment to the UPWP includes $185,000 in rollover funds from FY 2014 and FY 2015. It is anticipated that this funding will be used for transportation planning studies and additional traffic data collection in Kent County.
The Dover/Kent County MPO is federally required to have a written work program in accordance with the federal transportation bill, Moving Ahead for Progress in the 21st Century (MAP-21). MAP-21 authorizes federal surface transportation programs for highways, highway safety and transit.
