Dover/Kent County MPO Awards Downtown Dover Partnership Mini-Grant for Innovative Parklet Project

Dover, Kent County – June 15, 2023 – The Dover/Kent County Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) is delighted to announce that the Downtown Dover Partnership has been awarded a mini-grant as part of the MPO’s Parklet Pilot Program. This initiative aims to enhance public spaces in the downtown area by introducing innovative parklets that provide opportunities for relaxation, recreation, and social interaction.

The Dover/Kent County MPO encourages other municipalities within the region to explore the potential of parklets as a means of transforming their public spaces. The Parklet Pilot Program showcases the MPO’s dedication to fostering sustainable and inclusive communities, promoting active transportation, and enhancing the quality of life for residents.

Dover Kent MPO announces four studies now open for public comment.

Dover Kent MPO is pleased to announce that four studies are now open for public comment.

The studies and much ancillary information from public workshops and presentations are viewable on the Dover/Kent MPO website under “Current Studies” (http://www.doverkentmpo.org/current-study-pages). All of these studies are now open for public comment until July 6, 2023, when they will be voted on and accepted by the Dover/Kent County MPO council.

The studies include the Smyrna Clayton Boulevard Intersection Study, the Trap Shooters Interchange Study, the N. Walnut/N. Rehoboth Blvd./10th St. Interchange Study, and the Dover High School Walk Zone Study.
