Milford-Slaughter Beach Shared Use Path Feasibility Study

Milford-Slaughter Beach Shared Use Path Feasibility Study Kick-Off

The City of Milford and Town of Slaughter Beach are partnering with the Dover/Kent County Metropolitan Planning Organization and Delaware Department of Transportation to kick-off the Milford-Slaughter Beach Shared Use Path Feasibility Study.  Slaughter Beach Mayor Bob Wood shares, “We are excited to work with the City of Milford on this feasibility study to link our towns and provide safer passage for pedestrians, those who are handicapped, and cyclists.”

WHAT:

The Milford-Slaughter Beach Shared Use Path Feasibility Study will assess the feasibility and develop a conceptual design for a shared-use path that connects the City of Milford with the Town of Slaughter Beach. A shared-use path will provide people walking, biking, and rolling with a new transportation connection and a regional recreational amenity that will encourage eco-tourism in the area.

This study is being funded by a U.S. DOT Thriving Communities Grant that the City of Milford and Town of Slaughter Beach won with support from the UD Institute of Public Administration Grant Assistance Program. Dover Kent County MPO is administering the grant funds on behalf of Milford and Slaughter Beach. The grant requires substantial work be complete by June 2, 2025.

You can also provide feedback anytime between now and December 20 via the online survey available at https://www.publicinput.com/milford-slaughterbeach.

The Dover Kent County MPO is committed to Title VI compliance.
