THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN MOUNT HOLLY HAS ISSUED A BLIZZARD WATCH...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM FRIDAY EVENING THROUGH SUNDAY MORNING. THE WINTER STORM WATCH HAS BEEN CANCELLED. * LOCATIONS...SOUTHEASTERN NEW JERSEY AND CENTRAL DELAWARE. * HAZARD TYPES...POTENTIAL FOR BLIZZARD CONDITIONS WITH HEAVY SNOW...STRONG WINDS AND BLOWING SNOW. * SNOW ACCUMULATIONS...6 TO 14 INCHES POSSIBLE... MPO office will be closed Monday, Jan. 18
The Dover/Kent County MPO office will be closed on Monday, Jan. 18 in observance of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.The office will re-open on Tuesday, Jan. 19.
Delmarva Goods Summit Dec. 15
The Delmarva Goods Movement Task Force winter meeting will be held on from 9 a.m to noon on Tuesday, Dec. 15 at the Duncan Center, 500 Loockerman St., Dover, Del. This taskforce is comprised of area DOTs, economic development groups, private sector representatives, county officials, ports, and members of the public. It is charged with overseeing and helping implement future actions and policy recommendations that result from the WILMAPCO Freight and Goods Movement Analysis. The meeting is open to all trucking, railroad, port, airport, shipper, freight logistics, economic development, and community representatives. To register, please visit www.wilmapco.org/delmarva .
APA of Delaware Annual Meeting, Dec. 8
The Delaware Chapter of the American Planning Assocation (APA) will hold its annual meeting on Dec. 8 from 5 to 7 p.m. The meeting will be held at Frazier’s restaurant, 9 E. Loockerman Street, in Dover, Del.
Speakers will include Sarah M. Pragg, policy specialist for the University of Delaware’s Institute for Public Administration, who will discuss the Delaware Complete Communities Planning Toolbox; and Lewis D. Schiliro, J.D., former secretary for the Department of Safety and Homeland Security. He will discuss planning for large events.

Dec. 17 Public Advisory Committee Meeting Cancelled
The Dover/Kent County MPO’s Public Advisory Committee meeting scheduled for 6 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 17 has been cancelled. The next regular meeting will be at 6 p.m. on Feb. 23.
University of Delaware Planning ADA Accessibility Workshop
The University of Delaware’s IPA will conduct a workshop entitled, “Walk this Way! Creating ADA-Accessible Communities with Walk Appeal” on Friday morning, Dec. 4, 2015 at the Dover Public Library.

Final Public Workshop for Division Street Design Week is Thursday, 5-7 p.m.
The next and final public workshop for Division Street Design Week will be held from 5-7 p.m on Thursday, Nov. 19 at the Inner City Sankofa Cultural Center at 39 N. West Street.
Monday and Tuesday’s workshops both were a success with residents, business owners, planners and other stakeholders all sharing their ideas for a vision for a western gateway to downtown Dover. Tuesday included a children’s exercise to gauge what they would like to see for the area. All are welcome to attend Thursday night’s workshop where the Dover/Kent County MPO, the city of Dover and contractors from Whitman Requardt & Associates put everything together from the first two workshops and present what people have shared.
