Tuesday included a children’s exercise to gauge what they would like to see for the area. All are welcome to attend Thursday night’s workshop where the Dover/Kent County MPO, the city of Dover and contractors from Whitman Requardt & Associates put everything together from the first two workshops and present what people have shared.

Division Street Design Week Nov. 16-19

Dover/Kent County MPO and City of Dover to hold Division Street Design Week as part of downtown study When: Nov. 16-19 Where: Inner City Sankofa Cultural Arts Center, 39 S. West St., Dover, DE 19904. Public Meetings: 5-7 p.m., Nov. 16, 17 & 19 at the Inner City Sankofa Cultural Arts Center. CAMDEN — The Dover/Kent County Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) and the City of Dover would like to work with the public to create a gateway for the west end of downtown Dover. To do that, from Nov. 16 to 19, the MPO and the city will hold Division Street Design Week, which will be a weeklong workshop centered around the MPO’s Capital Gateway Study. Both the Division Street Design Week and the Capital Gateway Study aim to make a more definitive gateway to downtown Dover. They also intend to develop a plan for emphasizing transportation, streetscape and land use elements such as traffic entrances and exits, parking, and how to strike a balance for residences and businesses in the area. The study and workshop areas encompass Division Street from Saulsbury Road to State Street, and Forest Street to Division Street and the railroad track where it runs through downtown Dover. The plan development process will be hands-on, community-driven, and will involve significant engagement with the public and local stakeholders to discuss the vision for the study, and discuss potential development activity along each of these roads. Several workshops will take place during the Design Week. Some of these workshops will involve smaller groups, but there also will be three evening, public meetings from 5-7 p.m. on Nov. 16, 17 and 19 at the Inner City Sankofa Cultural Arts Center at 39 S. West Street in Dover. For more information, please contact Public Outreach Manager Kate Layton at (302) 387-6026 or at kate.layton@doverkentmpo.org.
