FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Public Workshop on Wheatley’s Pond Rd Corridor and Intersections in Clayton, DE

The Town of Clayton, in partnership with the Dover/Kent Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) and their planning partner, Century Engineering, A Kleinfelder Company, invites the public to attend a drop-in, open-house style workshop on improving the Wheatley’s Pond Road Corridor and key intersections in the area. The workshop will take place on March 25, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Clayton Fire Hall located at 300 East Street, Clayton, DE 19938.

This workshop will provide an opportunity for residents, business owners, and other stakeholders to review and provide feedback on the planning team’s recommendations aimed at enhancing the safety of both vehicles and pedestrians along Wheatley’s Pond Road and the intersections of School Lane, S. Bassett Street, and S. Rodney Street. These improvements are designed to address traffic flow, safety, and accessibility in these critical areas of Clayton.

The event is designed to be informal, with a drop-in format allowing attendees to come and go at their convenience. Participants will be able to view proposed plans, ask questions, and share their input with members of the planning team. Feedback from the public will play a crucial role in shaping the final recommendations and ensuring that the project addresses the community’s needs.

The town of Clayton encourages all interested parties to attend and contribute their ideas to help create a safer, more efficient transportation corridor for the community.
